Look what we have here--a blog! I jazzed up this calligraphy website of mine and added on a blog to share more behind-the-scenes photos and details from projects I'm working on, as well as helpful tips I've learned along the way about calligraphy.

I love using Honeybook for all of my client and project management. It's seriously been a game-changer and not only has helped my business grow, but it's helped me stay sane in the process. Use my referral link here to get 50% off your subscription.
Hi, friends! Welcome to the new blog on Brenna Claire Calligraphy. I added the blog feature as a way for me to share more content about my work and calligraphy-related resources I love as well. To kick start the blog, I figured I would share more about me and my background.
I have always loved lettering and designing, but about 2.5-3 years ago, I got serious about learning pointed pen/dip pen calligraphy. I took a local class and spent as much time as I could watching countless youtube videos and following other calligraphers online. When I was planning my own wedding in 2018, I knew I wanted to do all of the lettering and calligraphy for my decor and stationery. Ever since then, I have been practicing daily!
It was always a goal of mine to teach calligraphy in the Cleveland area, but I was honestly so scared to do it that I put it off for the longest time. I finally took the leap and taught my first class at my favorite floral shop and friend of mine, Ashley’s Floral. I LOVED IT. Since then, I’ve taught 5 classes total and I have 2 more lined up over the summer. You can check out my class schedule here.
I have found the most difficult thing in calligraphy, for me, is patience. That doesn’t come easily for me 🙂 It can be really frustrating to try to perfect a specific script or style and have it look nothing like how it should. But of course it won’t unless you keep practicing! I love to keep practice sheets so I can pull them out over the course of my practice and see how far I’ve come. It’s just like working out–you won’t see results over night, but if you keep putting in the work you will get results eventually!
It’s like therapy for me. I can spend hours practicing calligraphy and feel so relaxed. I light a candle, put on my favorite podcast or audiobook, and letter away. This is a great way for me to unwind and I make time to do it each day!
When I’m not working on a wedding seating chart or envelope order, I’m usually spending time with my husband and our dog, Odin. If you know me, you know how insanely obsessed I am with Odin. He’s the cutest most wonderful dog EVER. Period. Don’t fight me on this. We are gearing up to move to Shaker Heights this summer, and we are beyond thrilled. I am so excited to move and start a new chapter in our new home. So when I’m not practicing calligraphy, I’m either having a iPhone photoshoot with Odin in between packing boxes.
